In the range of many cosmetic surgeries, Blepharoplasty is usually performed to offset the bags and bulges upon upper and lower eyelid tissues by removing excess skin, fats, and muscle. Generally blepharoplasty is performed either on the upper or the lower eyelids. The goal of this process is to tightening the surrounding skin of eyelids. This surgery gives a whole new look to the person with an improvement in the range of vision. The range of vision is improved by removing the excess skin from the eyelids.
Basically blepharoplasty is of two type functional and cosmetic surgery. The major emphasis of functional blepharoplasty is the eyesight and vision. Functional blepharoplasty removes the excess skin over upper eyelids and improves the vision of the patient. This surgery requires in the old age generally late forty. Cosmetic blepharoplasty is responsible for the new looks and shape of eyelids. The surgery is a solution for drooping upper eyelids, puffy bags just below the eyes and the skin texture that make you feel older.
The surgeon makes an outline around the eye. This outline represents excess skin which needs to be removed. Blepharoplasty can also remove the scar around your eyes. After blepharoplasty, 2 to 3 weeks are required to get fully recovered. However, the recovery time is different for every patient. For an old patient, it can take some extra time to recover.
